Take
a journey through entertainment history with a tour of
the historic Municipal Auditorium and the Stage of Stars Museum.
Stand on the stage where Elvis performed his first career appearance
to a national radio audience. Step onto the historic stage and
have your photo taken. Sit awhile in the original chairs and imagine
some of the numerous performers that played on its stage in the
1950's and 1960's such as Hank Williams and Kitty Wells, or speak
with some of the tour guides, some of which were present at many
of the shows in the Municipal's famous past. View the Stage of
Stars Museum which includes numerous rooms and showcases honoring
people and events that shaped the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium's
storied past and present such as Elvis Presley, James Burton,
Tex Ritter, Hank William's Senior, or view a showcase honoring
veterans from World War 1, all of which are people and events
that shaped the Municipal’s past and present. Then stroll
through the halls filled with fascinating memorabilia from the
Municipal’s past.
Celebrating
its 75th Anniversary in 2004, the Municipal Auditorium is a National
Historic Site, and housed the Louisiana Hayride during the 1950's
